Oli Beauty Bars
This was a group D&AD submission for the 2016 New Blood design awards for the brief from Design Bridge.
Environmental issues are a growing concern and many consumers are choosing to buy products that are more sustainable and from brands that are environmentally aware. Oli beauty bars are a set made up of shampoo, conditioner and body wash that aim to be environmentally friendly and natural.
So many natural beauty products on the current market use coconut and argon oil as their main ingredient, however due to where they are sourced, these ingredient contribute to the carbon emissions of the product. Oli is primarily made up of olive oil, which is good for the hair and skin as well as producing less carbon emissions as they would be sourced from Italy therefore requiring less transportation and due to delicacy olives need to be hand pick meaning no machinery would be used in the harvesting process.
The products come in bar form rather than liquid as they still work just as well and it allowed for the elimination of a plastic bottle. We then designed the wrapping for the bars on recycled paper and card, emphasising the environmental approach through the aesthetics.
