Created using a traditional technique called gouache-off, this illustration combines color, texture and contrast to produce a fun and dramatic feel.

This process involves careful planning. Thick layers of gouache are applied to areas of the image that are intended to be in color and then once dry, the entire image is painted in black ink. The black ink stains everything unprotected by the gouache and give the piece awesome and completely unpredictable texture.
