For this project I wanted to show my surroundings - a rural setting and give it a completely new meaning. The key was to show it in a surreal environment and emphasise its key features. Rather than using just one particular rural setting, I kept the boundaries broad. By adding a variation of cacti as oppose to the ‘usual’  vegetation or flowers found in the typical English countryside, it kept my work original, fun and almost dream - like. By placing objects in a mirrored box I had created, I feel this helped expand the theme more successfully. Reflecting objects onto itself produced mysterious angles and focal points. Incorporating a strong use of light added depth. Experimenting with the use of colour, composition and high quality imagery and minimalistic plantation channeled a contemporary and urban vibe.
