IVHU - SUSTAINABLE HAIR COLOR FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

IVHU
SUSTAINABLE HAIR COLOR FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

In the Packaging Impact Design Award (PIDA) Competion of 2017, the brief was to "challenge conventional packaging for a sustainable future". This is my entry for the competition.

This project is all about packing a environmentally friendly and sustainable hair color, in a sustainable way.
I decided to package the hair color Henna. The color is based purely on herbs from a Henna plant and is therefore 100% natural. This makes the product sustainable for both humans, and nature. The brand behind this product is called IVHU, which means ”Earth” in Philippine where the Henna plant is commonly grown.

For the convenience of the user of the hair color I divided the product into six portions packed sections. When using this package of Henna you simply tear away one tube at the time, depending on how much color you need. The package is made with only Billrud Korsnäs White 220 gram cardboard, which is easier to recycle since it is only one type of material.

The prototype is hand-cut and constructed by me.
