These are my first two drawings for this project. I was focusing on establishing my theme and trying to figure out if I wanted to go with a rockabilly aesthetic or a more formal design.
This is my first draft for the logo. It was heavily influenced by the rockabilly fashion scene. It would prove too difficult to read when I actually tried to place it on the hang tags.
This is the first draft of the hang tags. I had to screen shot the PDF of the tags as I was having issues with my colors when I exported my tags from InDesign to PDF.
I redesigned the logotype several times before landing on this design. The previous versions were either to large to fit on the tag or didn't show up well on the dark backgrounds. I made the stroke of the atom's lines thicker. I also made the smaller type larger so it would be easier to see on any background.
This is the finally design. I went through several different redesigns for the back part of the tag.I am still not satisfied with the back side of the tag, but I think the tags over all look nice and reflect the post-apocalyptic feeling that i was trying to target.
