Do Humans Dream Of Perfect Lawns?

'Do Humans Dream Of Perfect Lawns?' is an exploration of the suburban infrastructures and western culture of America. Beginning in the 1950's post war boom, suburbia and its architecture have served to accommodate the ideal American family. However, with this mass production of vernacular architecture, artists from the likes of Ed Ruscha to Stephen Shore have documented a thoroughly deep investigation into the American middle class and the reaction to their surroundings. Suddenly, suburbia itself has become more than just an accommodation and a canvas onto which television and popular culture, authors, and artists alike have created what is now a part of the American western conscious.
