Project Brief

Understanding the various construction materials and their manufacturing process is essential to an interior designer. The project aims to strengthen your material knowledge and better understand how construction materials can be put together to form a piece of furniture or an interior space.

Throughout the semester, you will also gain exposure to the different manufacturing techniques through industry visits to construction material suppliers. This will allow you to better visualise how materials are being process for use in different interior design context.

Based on the observations during the industry visits, you will need to apply the techniques to individual projects. You are required to document all your research, sketches, photos in the Construction Journal.
