The Voyage of the Igbo, is a collection of postcolonial literature that goes into full depth on the journey that the Igbo people of Nigeria have had.

The books selected were Things Fall Apart and Arrow of God by Chinua Achebe, The Bride Price and The Joys of Motherhood by Buchi Emecheta, and Half of a Yellow Sun and Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The collection spans from pre colonisation, colonisation and post colonisation.

Each part of the collection tells a different story from a different point of view and explains the journey of ups and downs that the people have had.

The concept behind the covers was to create a graphic that joins all 6 together to create a bigger picture. A river was used in order to convey this, it starts from the first book in the collection and ends with the last. The use of the river is because of the journey of changes rivers endure from start to finish.

The shape of the river Niger has been applied onto the books with a transparent UV print to give it a watery feeling and also to express that the backstory of the collection is the journey of changes the Igbo people of Nigeria have had. Green and white has been used over the board to make it identifiable with Nigeria.

Thanks, gràcies, gracias, merci.
