sprout email blasts (Student Work)

Student Work
Project: Design a series of three email blasts for a company not in existence yet. Brand the company with a logo and all other appropriate content and make sure the email blasts relate to each other in some way

The idea for sprout came from my yoga teacher who approached me about designing a logo for a natural food/catering company she wants to start. She liked the names “sprout” and “mother earth,” and after sketching ideas for both names, I decided I liked my ideas better for “sprout.”

The way I picture sprout as a company is a local catering service that specializes in simple, homemade foods that incorporate natural and organic ingredients not only for environmental and health purposes, but also for the fresh taste they give to dishes. Every recipe is bursting with vibrant flavor (as depicted by the vibrant colors in each email blast), and customers realize this by the satisfaction they feel when they know they are eating fresh, natural food that was grown and served with care.

The sprout logo idea combines simplicity, wholeness, and minimalist. I wanted to show the idea of a sprout in the most basic way possible, so I chose a leaf that I created in Illustrator. I was inspired to put the letters of the world inside circles because I’ve always loved how subway signs put the letters of the trains inside shapes, and while that was the first influence, I found that the idea worked on sprout’s level because the circle represents simplicity and wholeness. They also allow me to give the logo some background color, and I chose green because it represents nature, growth, peace, and safety. Green is a very trusting color, and I think customers of sprout grow very quickly to trust the company with all its catering and natural food needs.
