"NORTHEAST" AND "INDIA"

             “NORTHEAST” AND “INDIA”

Keeping in mind the natural beauty, the north-eastern part of India can be termed as the doorway to heaven.  But sadly, only a handful of people know about the north-eastern states being a part of India. Since it is located at extreme point of India geographically, both the government and Indians ignore it to a great extent. Indians are considered as the descendants of the Aryans who are famous worldwide due to their sharp facial features. But then why the north-eastern Indians are a misfit? History says that the Mongolian invasion by Chengiz Khan has resulted into a mix breed- the indo-Mongolian breed. But does that allow any individual to take away the rights as an Indian, as a human?
It’s often said that only a person who loves you a lot gives you nicknames; but “chinky” – a nickname out of ‘love’ or ‘humiliation’? The preamble starts with-
“We the people of India…” – aren’t the north-eastern people a part of this “we”? The pledge says –
“India is my country.
All Indians are my brothers and sisters…” – Why can’t every citizen of the “Diverse India” accept the residents of the eight north-eastern states with open arms? Why do they have to face discrimination and humiliation when they come out of their native places for striving towards excellence?
Often we get to hear about discriminations, tortures, racist comments faced by the north-eastern people by the so-called “Superior Indians”. After directly or indirectly devoting their lives to their motherland, why aren’t they assured minimum security as an Indian citizen?
Every Indian should keep in mind the insignificantly significant rhyme that they have studied in nursery classes –
“All things bright and beautiful,
 All creatures great and small,
 All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.”
