Brand development for the winery Karlsmühle

The wine is characterized by its strong taste of minerals which is caused by the slate soils of the steep slopes of the Mosel region. The design focuses on these minerals and the special slate soils, too. The circularly arranged diamonds reflect this diversity of shale formations as well as the diversity of the wines. The round shape stands for a millstone and the mill tradition associated with it. The colour is the distinguishing criterion, providing information on the flavour. The signature is associated with a historical, sublime, powerful and monumental character. The Schlegel shape of the bottle has its origin in Germany and is used in the Mosel area in particular. This shape gives away the origin of the wine at first glance. As an additional refinement for special wines a gold embossing of the outer diamonds could be applied.
