Berried in Bliss

This project was for the Advanced Commercial Photography class at Arizona State University. The goals for this assignment were to “demonstrate the skills and photographic techniques you have learned this semester. You are to come up with a series of 3 photos, with a consistent concept and prop them”. The initial idea for a series was to take 3 completely different foods that all had one common ingredient: berries. The theme was an authentic country home; which was achieved by using the mason jars and tin. For the lighting the creation of a fake window in the studio was made. To produce this effect, there was a curtain with a soft box lighting it up behind it making it look like a window. It was created to look like a kitchen table with the tablecloth, after that it was all in the placement of the items. There was a main light up top and a little bit in the front and my fill light in the back left of the table. It all came together really nicely in just a few shots. After that it was just a matter of the subject. That was the fun part! All these shots were taken in the studio with artificial lighting. They were shot RAW and tethered to Lightroom. After favorites were picked, adjustments ere made in Photoshop.
