Antigravity Chair: flat pack yoga chair

PROJECT GOAL

This was my very first product design assignment at Art Center College of Design, in 2010.
The goal was to design flat-pack furniture for compact living spaces.

There were tight constraints:
1) The design could only use a single plank of 4x8 foot plywood
2) The construction could not entail any adhesives or mechanical fasteners

The 'Antigravity Chair' is designed for yogis and people with back pain who live in small spaces.
You can sit comfortably, hang upside down, and store your yoga props.

Yoga inversions help improve blood circulation, relax and stretch tense back muscles, lower blood pressure, and realign and elongate the body. The design allows for easy assisted inversions so you can gently defy gravity at the end of your day.

This design was featured on blogs including Dr Prem Yoga Guide and Browse Yoga.
