During a workshop with Jack Usine, the font Barbaros was created from a « big letter » post card of Blida. The narrowness of the character gives a imposing representation, but the little serif shows distinction and delicacy.
The name Barbaros is a wink at Barberousse, a ruthless pirate, but who also founded the city of Blida to receive the Andalusia refugees. He was a violent men but he was also altruist. The font reflect in a way this opposition.

Durant un workshop avec Jack Usine, le caractère Barbaros a été créé à partir d’une carte postale « grosse lettre » de la ville de Blida. L’étroitesse du caractère le rend imposant et les petits empattements lui donnent de l’élégance.
Le nom est un clin d’œil à Barberousse, pirate réputé sans merci, mais qui a créé Blida pour accueillir des réfugiés, un homme violent qui a su faire preuve d'altruisme. Une opposition qui se reflète dans cette typographie.
