Critical Room is a research revolving around critical design. I tried to define what critical
design could be today, where it operates and which tools it uses, what it criticizes and how
it is funded. I also wanted my project to be actually critical and take a stand on the subject. To give
a few examples, —“How is this supposed to be critical? What is the real message here? Is it critical
if it is funded by a private client?”, and so on. The topic also allowed me to slightly deviate from the main research, by indirectly opening wider questions — for instance, about authorial ambitions, interdisciplinarity and design education. Among these two main parts, there are also three folded inserts displaying the cases I collected during the research.
