Global Identities: Olympic Design

Analysis of the 120-year-old history of Olympic corporate identities regarding their design historical context.

Design is able to create identities using corporate designs. When creating corporate designs in a global context, design is also able to create intercultural identities or combine regional and global aspects in just one visual language.
The Olympic Games are an example for symbols of global communities, so I analyzed all Olympic corporate identities ever created since 1896 and compared them regarding their design historical context.
I designed a book containing texts written by myself, to give an overview about the development of graphic design and it’s changing priorities.
