Photoshop/Sketchup renders for library carpet project

Above is the Hutt City (Lower Hutt) Central Library's previous carpet tile installation. I worked on this project with Urban Plus who manage Lower Hutt City Council's properties. Below I produced a series of Photoshop/Sketchup in context visualisation renderings of different carpet tile designs to help the client slect a new carpet tile design. Google Sketchup's photomatch 3D modeling tool was used to create the perspective plane of carpet tiles which matches the perspective geometry of the photograph. An image of the carpet tiles is then exported into Photoshop where it is composited into the original photograph. For a photorealistic finish the shadows and highlights on the original carpet surface is composited on the new carpet surface.
The above image depicts the carpet tile design that the client selected for installation.
