SKOG is a concept music player app focusing primarily on metal music.
Metal music is often thought of as angry or senseless form of music by average people. They are unable to see the beauty and depth of the concepts and themes in those songs. The whole genre is so broad and rich that it cannot be portrayed by a single ideology.
Whites, shades of dark blue, and golden color matched with minimal elements and typography is how I see the power and humbleness being portrayed which I have tried to bring in this UI.
Arial has been one of my favorite font which clients and POs have never liked much, I'm glad I get to use it here.
Why is it called 'Skog'?
Scandinavian countries have played a major role in developing this genre and heavy influence was drawn from cold dark forests of Norway, Sweden and Finland. In Norwegian, a forest is called as Skog, hence the name.
