How to Make a Phone Case Out of Cardboard?

Phones nowadays are not the ones that we had earlier – they come in all shapes and sizes and now are pretty sensitive to surviving a fall or even just getting banged. Since almost all of us have phones in our hands at all the times they are pretty susceptible to falling and getting damaged. The touch screens are another story altogether for I have heard of stories of them being broken in back pockets and handbags.

Among all the other phone accessories I believe phone cases are of vital importance. The cases that are nowadays readily available are of many types such as pouches, sleeves, and holsters. Also, they come in many materials such as leather, silicon, and plastic and can be customized as well as per your liking. Customized printing can also be done on your phone cases.

Since it is a hassle especially for men to carry wallets as well as phone cases in only the pockets of their pants – wallets and phone cases has now been converted into one as well. One of the latest kinds of phone cases that I have come across are known as functional cases and they include a Wi-Fi package, an external battery, wireless keyboard and a mouse as well so your phone can be operated like tablets but however these are all very tech savvy phone cases and today I will tell you how to make a very nice and humble kind of a phone case, Yes! I will tell you guys how to make a phone case out of cardboard.

Material Required:
You can make your phone case using just 5 things that are found in your home readily and are also available in any crafts shop for very nominal cost. You will need a nice and sturdy cardboard, sharp scissors, a strong tape, please remember you only need tape for glue will not work here, a fine tip black marker and of course your phone.

Measuring Your Phone:

Phones are now coming in many sizes and shapes, and along with them comes their own cases, since sizes are now varying model to model.
So for your phone case, place it on the cardboard and using the felt tip marker trace the outline of your phone approximately at inches from the phone on to the cardboard and cut it out.

In the same manner, you need to trace out another piece of the cardboard and this is from the back. However, the only difference is that the back cover will have another modification that will be the stand for the phone case. So after you have traced the back, in addition to it cut out the shape of the stand as well, and you will have something like this.

The extension that we have drawn on the backside needs to be bent so very carefully at the joint just bend the extension at the angle of 90 degrees. Now we have to start drawing the centerpiece. For this particular phone, I'm showing you which is 3/4" I made it 1" of a rectangular strip. Then you need to again bend it in the shape of your front and back piece of cardboard. Trim the excess if required.
Putting it Together:
Now you need to put it all together and stick it firmly together using the tape, and now add any personal touches to it if you want. Use paints, beads, stickers or washi tapes. It is your canvas.

You can follow the steps above or you can simply sit back and order your custom printed cardboard box by TheCustomBoxes.com. You should do so because they use only the best material for their boxes and can be recycled as well.
