A saner lynch - poster project

A Saner lynch - "Inner battle"
A saner lynch - "Chaotic rhythm"
The brief of this project was to illustrate what we felt or what we heard from two different songs. They had no name, and the artist did not exist. This opened for a much broader interpretation of the colors and general look of the posters. I went two different routes. For the first one called "Inner battle" I wanted to illustrate the more poetic side of the song, and was influenced by the sounds of some sort of battle in the song. The twisted flower represents the brain of my imaginary person, while the red circle is the battle that this person fights to get his saneness and calm back.

On the second one I wanted to do something with the rhythm of the music. For me the music was kind of a cluster at first, and I struggled to find any patterns in the song. I am very fond of patterns, rhythm and structure in general, so the hardest part of this poster was to just fully embrace the cluster of the song. And to do this I listened to the song over and over again, which in the end resulted in me finding different shapes for the different tones, and re-arranging them as I heard them in the song. This poster was also made for a riso-printer, so that I could incorporate different sounds playing on top of each other.
