The thesis investigates the different roles that communication design takes in participatory projects based on collective writing for social inquiry. Moreover, it presents typologues:,
a series of experimental events - exploratory as well as explanatory contributions to the development of this emerging field.

The practical part of the project consists of realising a web-based collective writing app, that can be used to incentivise collective reflections and generate ideas in different contexts. The system was experimented in a public installation for the citizens and guests of Vilnius city as well as in a workshop – performance for a Vilnius-based group of aspiring writers.
