WE Bag
I had to create illustrations or designs that appealed to a group of targeted audiences from age 18-35 years old, provided with pictures and videos of Phnom Penh(Cambodia) as a source of inspiration.

Sight Rationale : Seeing the videos, what interested me the most were the orange robes the monks wore, and the omnipresence of different types of umbrellas. According to me the most captivating color was orange so I decidedto take it in a literal aspect using the visual of half an orange, with an umbrella subtly inserted in it. Inside this design I then decided to use a small illustration of the backside of a monk holding an umbrella in a symmetric manner. Avoiding the usage of too many outlines I depicted the difference in the images through different shades of orange. Illustrating a catchy yet delicate motif this is what I was aiming to convey through my design.

Sound Rationale : As most of the videos were taken from a moving vehicle, majority of the audio consisted of moving traffic and wind. I thought it would be challenging to illustrate something based on the wind, as (seen in the video)it was rapid, unsmooth and in some ways chaotic. It reminded me of the white noise we hear on television sometimes. The thought behind using the design in a descending pattern depicts the impact of the wind. For the color I have chosen blue as I relate to the wind as an element that is strong, unpredictable and horrific tending to a negative side, though light blue because the videos were mainly shot during the day time where the winds true side could not fully bedisclosed.

I was required to make a design based on videos of Phnom Penh for bags, where the money would be donated to the HIV affected women in Phnom Penh.
