DAY Studio — Volumes & Voids Series' Exhibition
DAY Studio is founded by Doğanberk Demir and Yeşim Eröktem in 2015 following their masters degree at ECAL. The studio works on furniture, lighting, table-top accessories, textile designs as well as industrial products and packaging design. Yeşim and Doğanberk fuses their cultural background with a contemporary approach to create simple and functional everyday objects.
DAY works with local and international companies such as Frette, Flormar and Kristal apart from their product and furniture line. DAY Studio’s own brand AVLU focuses on local manufacturing techniques, taking advantage of İstanbul's rich crafts culture. Their work has been exhibited at Wallpaper* Handmade, Salone del Mobile, Downtown Design Dubai and Istanbul Design Week and featured at Wallpaper*, SightUnseen, XOXO and Maison Francoise magazines.
We prepared a photo-series on Volumes & Voids’ products to DAY Studio this year, with their minimalistic look in mind. Our goal was to involve a motion within product imagery unlike other projects we did with DAY.
DAY Studio held their first exhibition with V&V products, also including their AVLU collection from earlier years. We did advertorial stop-motion GIF animations and a short trailer, apart from photo-series.
