Mickey Mouse Mandala
This was created in Adobe Sketch (iPad App). It is a mandala representing Mickey Mouse.
To Create This Piece Please Follow The Instructions Below:
1) Find Inspiration
I am very passionate about animation, so I chose Mickey Mouse, one of the main characters in one of the first successful animations, Steamboat Willy, as my base layout.
2) Create Guides
Guides are extremely helpful to have when creating your line work as they help make sure everything is symmetrical. See the image below to see how I set up my guides.
3) Create Line Work
Now, inside those guides you just created you can do your line work, but make sure your line work is on a separate layer so that you can hide the guides when you do not need them any more.
**Make your line work intricate to make your mandala look better. If you need to you can always look up images of a mandala online.
Below is my line work for the piece. As you can see the guides are no longer necessary, so you can delete them, but I recommend keeping them just in case.
4) Color Your Piece
Now that you have created your line work it is time to color. It is best if the color is on a separate layer behind the line work.
Below is how I colored my piece. It is very important that your colors work together, therefore, I recommend using colors from the same theme, but do NOT constrain yourself to those colors.
