"Sweet Sofa" is a furniture design with postmodern trend and neo-baroque style. It is also designed with some feature of the works of Keith Haring.
Early proponents of postmodernism argued that the earlier modern movement, which denied ornament and symbolism, had dehumanized design, since functionalism and rationalism prevailed in it.
This sofa represents the strongest postmodernist design. And is that leaves behind the angles, to give prominence to the undulations.
Rich in curves and combinations of materials, soft and velvety textures and carved woods are some of the characteristics of the neo-baroque style, which shares this piece of furniture.

Another shape that reflects this sofa as a whole is that of an ice cream cone, (the wood refers to the cone and the blue parts to the ice cream) that refers to something sweet. This similarity is an irony to the great crisis that happened in the era of postmodernism. A comparison of a sweet and comfortable life is made with the bad moments of those times of wars and crises.
Some of the characteristics of the works of Keith Haring, and which this furniture design shares, are the flashy colors that he uses, his obsession with moving his drawings and thinking about nature, representing dogs, dolphins and different animals.
