Minimalistic Book Design

Minimalist Book Design
My book project is created from the perspective of how it may be obvious that one is a student of the arts, especially of design. I created simple graphic-design posters that would fit together loosely in my rough book wrapped in a delicate chambray. The delicateness of student-hood is greater emphasized with the light pink lace that holds together the designs without any glue, signifying the looseness of students regarding their interests. If a project is not successful, many would become discouraged.
But in this way I also wanted to bring attention to the aesthetic of un-perfection. It seems almost expected that graphic design be clean cut and minimalistic. But when combined with homey and intimate fabrics held together with their own sense of delicateness, it creates an altogether different effect that I have found interesting. When I had actually placed these designs in a highly minimalistic book of hardcover and plain, untextured pages, I did not like the final product at all. As if a distant robot speaking about its difficulties, something no student could relate to. And so this is my representation of a student’s perspective of learning design, experimenting and generating questions along the way.
