The Character of a Happy Life is a farcical comedy set in the town of Lucknow, India; the play makes an observation on the life of DENNIS, a man in his early thirties and his encounter with a vampire, BOLOUNE, in her late two hundreds, who has recently moved to town.
The play runs you through the sudden double life that emerges as Dennis deals with the characters from his mellow and oppressed existence and the sinister character he keeps locked up in his basement – ultimately affecting the character of his own character.
Torn between the dreariness of his simple life and the new life this sinister vampire promises him for quenching her thirst for living blood, the play follows DENNIS’ journey to his final damning/redemptive choice.
The play makes an attempt to get inside the mind of its protagonist where the war between good and evil exists.
Well the twist in the tail is the most important detail of this tale.
