Glimps of the whole project, where women artisan who were trained in making Mojari or Jutti a hand embroidered leather shoes in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Above grid is showing design development process done by artisan and came up with new product line. Where design intervention happen from material, colour, motif as well as product.
Jingar, a community from India, known to make intricate Handcrafted jutis (Traditional
Shoes/Sandals) from Vegetable Tanned Leather, wherein male of the family deal
with the cutting, oiling & finishing leather & on the other hand female beautify leather
with intricate embroidery & stitching with various techniques such as aari Work,
harwaja & sallu. The community originally uses to make Jin (Horse saddles) & this
symbolizes in their surname but over the period of time Juti making become their
full time profession. They were integral part of barter eco system of Indian states
i.e. Rajasthan, Punjab & Madhyapradesh. Royals of India & many from the world are
ardently appreciated their hand skills & craftsmanship.

Collection Jingar Narratives is all about women empowerment it is inspired by the Blue City of Jodhpur, Rajasthan's architectural details. A effort to bring back the
craftsmanship, detailing & intricacy through beautiful Handcrafted Contemporary
products while keeping the traditional techniques intact & authenticate. The
collection is created by 30 women of Jingar Community & we have made sincere attempt to make traditions contemporary with their help. It all started during the winter of 2015, we all worked together for six months to bring out this collection wherein four months we spent on intervention at skill level to understand & learn contemporising
the traditional techniques.
