Tabriz is one of the historical capitals of Iran and the present capital of East Azerbaijan Province. Located in the Quru River valley between the long ridge of the volcanic cones of the Sahand and Eynali mountains. The valley opens up into a plain that gently slopes down to the eastern shores of Lake Urmia, 60 kilometres (37 miles) to the west. With cold winters and temperate summers, the city is considered a summer resort. Tabriz is the World Carpet and Crafts City, also the city is selected by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation City of Tourism for 2018.


We designed a logo for different parts of Tabriz that we visited. You can take a look at each logo at the beginning of each section.



S a ' a t   T o w e r
Sa'at Tower also known as Tabriz Municipality Palace is the city hall and main office of the municipal government of Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Province, Iran.


T h e   M a u s o l e u m   o f   P o e t s
The Mausoleum of Poets or Mazār e Sorāyandegān belongs to poets, mystics and famous people, located in the Surkhab district of Tabriz in Iran. It was built by Tāhmāseb Dolatshāhi in the mid-1970s while he was the Secretary of Arts and Cultures of East Azarbaijan.


M a g e l l a n   H O U S E
During our time in Tabriz we stayed in an old beautiful building. There was a cat living there named "Magellan". She was pretty different from the other cats and that was the main reason that made us enjoy spending time with her and her partner.


A r g   o f   T a b r i z
Arg of Tabriz (also known as Arg Alishah, Arg-e Alishah, Arch of Alishah, Arg Citadel, and Masjid Ali-Shāh), is the remnants of a big unfinished 14th-century mausoleum and a 19th-century military castle and barrack in city center of Tabriz, Iran.


A m i r   N e z ā m   H o u s e
The Amir Nezām House (Khaneh-e Amir Nezām), or The Qajar Museum of Tabriz, is a historical building in the Sheshghelan district, one of the oldest quarters of the city of Tabriz, Iran. 

B a z a a r   o f   T a b r i z
The Bazaar of Tabriz (also Romanized as Bāzār-e Tabriz) is a historical market situated in the city center of Tabriz, Iran. It is one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East and the largest roofed bazaar in the world. And is part of Iran's UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

T a b r i z   A r t   U n i v e r s i t y
Tabriz Art University is a public university located in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan. The university's major focus is on the Islamic art and architecture. The university was established in 1997. Part of the university's faculties separated from Sahand University of Technology.


Khosravi buildings
Khosravi building are located in the Tabriz Art University Campus. 
The main campus of the Tabriz Art University has an area of 36,000
square meters and includes the enrollment office, gymnasium, self-service
dining, and library. The campus buildings are parts of an old leather factory
that renovated for the university campus.

Behnam House
The other campus is located in Behnam House site. This complex has a
history going back to Zand dynasty.


K a n d o v ā N  v i l l a g e
Kandovān is a village in Sahand Rural District, in the Central District of Osku County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. This village exemplifies manmade cliff dwellings which are still inhabited. The troglodyte homes, excavated inside volcanic rocks and tuffs similar to dwellings in the Turkish region of Cappadocia, are locally called "Karaan".

L A N D S C A P E s
The imagery that we witnessed on the road was beyond thought. Let's just hope these shots make up for at least half of the beauty that existed on the road from Tehran to Tabriz.

o n  t h e  r o a d
We went to Tabriz in mid-September and spent about twenty hours on the road. Every minute of it had something to either surprise us or make us feel relaxed.
