Yia Yia's and Papouli's (2016)
Yia Yia and Papouli are greek for grandmother and grandfather. This is a summer project I did during the summer semester of 2016 for screen printing conjoined with advanced drawing. They are both mixed media pieces. Top image is 29"x29" screenprint on letters and background. The bottom is a cardboard box chest altered to look antique all by the concepts of drawing. The flowers inside the box represent every memory with my grandparents. The accordion style book background is hand-drawn. All of the copper decorative pieces are drawn with hot glue and then applied copper leafing.
