Child of China

This is a book that exploring a subculture. I transform the idea of hippie of being rebellious and perusing freedom into the context of China. I identify a group of people in China as Chinese hippie. Then, I transform a piece written by Jerry Robin called the Child of American into the Chinese context around the same time.

The form of the book: French-fold Chinese traditional paper bound by stitches and printed with double sided by Risograph,
asks the audience a certain effort to read the hidden text underneath, which is the part that I changed from the original text.
This idea resonates with the situation of saying and doing things within the country and the government with limitations
and controls.
In addition, the experimental typography is inspired by the original Jerry Rubin book to express the freedom
that Hippie is perusing.
