THE HERRINGBONE CHAIR - ENTRY FOR FURNITURE DESIGN AWARDS
Herringbone: A pattern made up of rows of parallel lines which in any two adjacent rows slope in opposite directions.
The Herringbone Chair was inspired by the herringbone pattern. The idea behind it was to make this pattern three dimensional, keeping in mind ergonomic standards of a standard chair. The design is made up of lines and sharp angles which are tapered at many ends to allow for a modern sleek look and feel, yet keeping in mind the comfort of the user. The chair with wide arm rests and a soft cushioned seat is designed for the additional
comfort of the user. The chair comes in four variants. The chair’s material can be
fabricated to custom needs with a variety of stone, wood and veneer options. The chair in its many variants can be used in homes and offices where it can lend a uniquely modern appeal to the space and can complement other types of furnishings very well.
