* Napoleon Lapathiotis (1888-1944) was born in Athens on the 31st of October 1888. He begun writing and publishing poetry at the early age of 11. In collaboration with others, Lapathiotis started a new magazine, the "Igiso", in 1907 and published a number of his poems there. In 1909, he received his law degree from the University of Athens. His first book of poems was published in 1939. Poor in later life and a drug addict, he committed suicide on 7 January 1944.
