Student Awards Ceremony 2016

Invitations & RSVP Card
When I started working on this project, I was invited to the decorations board that the planning committee had created on Pinterest. They were really into the idea of wooden palettes, string lights, and succulents. I noticed that there was a common "rustic" theme to all of it too. I tried to incorporate all of these things into the invitations (and later on, the rest of the event collateral).

Powerpoint Slide Presentation
Once I finished all of the print collateral for the ceremony, we realized that we had nothing to play on the screens behind the speakers. My advisor suggested that we make a powerpoint presentation of sorts with headers for the different categories of awards. There ended up being 13 different slides in all: an introduction slide, eleven award slides, and a concluding "thank you" slide.
In order to create them, I made three templates for each type of slide in Photoshop. In creating the introduction slide, I played around a bit with the placement of the text and created a sort of logo for the ceremony. It ended up placing this "logo" on each slide of the powerpoint, which actually gave it a nice cohesive feel.
Below: Here are some photos of the ceremony showing the powerpoint in use. The middle picture shows the table centerpieces that were used.
Award Certificate
These award certificates were given out to all people who were nominated for an award, but did not win. This gold embossed paper was given to me to go off of, but not much other direction was given. So I really got to have fun with it!
The first thing I did was to scan the paper into my computer, that way I could create a custom, actual size template out of it using Illustrator. This way, I would know exactly how much room I had to work with. Once I got the design down, I made eleven different templates (one with each different award name on it). I provided my advisor with these templates, and she filled in all of the blank spaces for the nominee's names.

Water Bottle Labels
This is probably one of the most difficult pieces I've ever designed for. I was given a pack of Avery water bottle labels to go off of. It seemed simple enough, but I soon found that the label's design template on the Avery website did not work at all. The dimensions were messed up, so I had to make my own sort of template using Illustrator. I ended up using the same imagery I created for the invitations on the labels, once I figured out the right dimensions for template.

Web Banner
You may have noticed that on the card there was a Google Forms link to RSVP on. I was asked to create this 2500 pixel web banner as the header for the sites. There were two different forms: one for people who nominated others, and one for those who were nominated. So I made up a different header for each.
