YouTube Redesign Interactions (WIP)
Although YouTube has been around for a long time, and many have done concepts on it. Thought it'd be interesting to explore some interactions and fresh ideas. Here are some of my mini pain points that most could probably relate with.
Its a hassle to open multiple tabs!
Pain point: As a user who uses the recommended feed a lot, I want to be able to play a list of videos without opening multiple tabs! And when is Chrome having Picture in Picture like Safari? Watch later function does not exactly serve this need. It's more of a parking lot than a playlist queue.
Add videos to queue and instant play, and multi-task!
My idea of having a queue that automatically shuffles videos in. Users can watch and add more videos into the list simultaneously, this will increase engagement and not disrupt the flow. (The autoplay list is sometimes just not relevant isnt it?)
Responsive scrolling for video component and preview timestamps
1. As a user who loves to read comments, I find it disrupting that I can't watch the video and read the comments simultaneously.      Does the video necessarily have to be scrolled away?
2. Checking out time stamps should be made simpler with a preview thumbnail when mouseover.
3. Emojis can also be added to comments.
4. Social links like Snapchat, Instagram are positioned upfront alongside the subscribe button.
