The Balingup Medieval Carnivale is the longest running carnival of it’s kind in the South West of Western Australia. It’s had the same branding since it started it 1996 so it was time for a make over. The rebrand aimed to modernise the carnival allowing it to appeal to an audience who may not have previously attended, whilst still maintaining a sense of the Medieval Age and history. This was achieved through the use of lino cuts as the basis of the design which created texture and simplified the design down due to the intricate nature of the lino cutting process allowing the design to be more striking.
