Rima Elkouri’s grandfather Naïm was born in Mardin (Turkey) and died in Montreal (Canada). He was a survivor of a genocide still denied today by Turkey. His father and his brother were murdered in 1915, as 90% of Christians in his hometown. 

In this very personal three-part graphic journey, columnist Rima Elkouri retraces her grandfather's steps to tell of the account of one very resourceful man’s survival during the first genocide of the 20th century — when the ruling pashas set out to exterminate Turkey’s large ethnic Armenian population.
