Multifunctional culture modules in Kassel, Germany.

Kulturpromnade
Project of multifunctional pavilions in Kassel City, Germany.
Multifunctional pavilions located in Kassel, Germany. Each pavilion contains another function, depends on current city's needs. City of Kassel, aspiring to be a cultural center in Germany. Once in 5 years, in this city takes place DOCUmenta - the biggest festival of documentary movies in Europe.
In my design proposition I focused on 2 main principles. First one was to redesign a long promenade's path with a great view on suburbs and mountains. I decided to create a shelter over the path, making a space for various activities.
The second principle was a respect of pavilions to the surrounding nature. Buildings have ability to connect promenade with a park, which begin on the hill. They are respectfull for excisting architecture and have reserved design to not compete with power of natur.
Pavilions becomes observation decks. They are also connected with each other by undeground corridor. Because of this, people visiting Kulturpromnade are able to meet all types of culture activities at the same time.
