The main objectives of this thesis were to study the risk and need for prevention of contrast induced-acute kidney injury (CI-AKI), a common complication among patients receiving iodinated contrast media. This thesis provides a general introduction to the landscape of CI-AKI prevention and the level of evidence on which CI-AKI preventive guidelines are based.
