"Coffin Cave: The Crypt"

I am uncertain of what toexactly say when first asked to produce an artist statement. Though this not adifficult issue for me to speak, whatsoever. I enjoy discussions and I couldtalk for hours on end on a variety of subjects, like most. However, I want todevelop into more in-depth idealistically detailed aspect with my designpresentation.
Mywork tended to change directions many times throughout the stages up to myfinal presentation. If it were not for the AIPOD (The Art Institute ofPittsburgh Online Division), Instructor Diane Martonis and fellow classmates inPerspective class, I would not have done a well-balanced strong designdetailing the creation of “Coffin Cave: The Crypt”. Not just spending many hours utilizing my obsession withdepicting the monotony of the work place and the work flow. I do understandeach person takes something a little differently when looking at art, ingeneral.
Noneof the elements in this design was intentional; yet, it all developed andevolved over time. Some erasertechniques and use of the tortillion was challenging; yet, brought life intothis dark cave. However, this truly finalizes the aesthetic complexity, evocative, and functional. Engages in a visual dialogue of who knows the storyof what is being told on all sides of the work; yet, it tells a story bychoosing to conceal and/or reveal what is hidden or obscured from view.
Itdoes communicate a delightful visual and critique towards the perspective, volume, and depth. I have clearly utilized a distinctive light source, castshadows, and a full range of the value scale. Overall, through all thedifficult issues; while in the creation, the process literally revealssimilarity and good continuation. I have enjoyed creating and sharing my“Coffin Cave: The Crypt” with each ofyou.
Remember, a cave is anatural underground space large enough for a human to enter. Caves formnaturally by the weathering of rock and they often extend deep underground. Iam showing sinkholes and the natural formation of speleothems (Speleothems takevarious forms, depending on whether the water drips, seeps, condenses, flows,or pond; in which, becomes theformations of: Dripstone is calcium carbonate in the form of stalactites(pointed pendants hanging from thecave ceiling, from which they grow) or stalagmites (the"ground-up" counterparts of stalactites, often blunt mounds).
Shiftingthe focusmore to the meaning of crypt; this is a subterranean chamber or vault, especially one beneath the main floor of a church, used as a burial place, alocation for secret meetings, etc. After researching back to the true meanings of cave and crypt, you come tofully understand how I began moving along with some ease of completing mychallenges for the final creation of my work, “Coffin Cave: The Crypt”. Thank you for your time andconsideration to the viewing of my work.
