Baybayin is an ancient Philippine script that dates back to the 16th Century, which evolved from the Indian Sanskrit. "Baybay" in Tagalog means "to spell."

The script is extensively archived, but very few Filipinos can read nor write in Baybayin. It is also more commonly used as a cultural reference in visual design, seen usually in logos, insignias, and even tattoos.

This is an attempt to modernize Baybayin and imagine it implemented with urban themes and contemporary aesthetic for a streetwear brand concept.

An old deed of sale written in Baybayin, part of the University of Santo Tomas archive which is considered as a National Cultural Treasure.
