A Pressure Cooker Saved My Life - Publication
The mission was to design and produce a book that would appeal to professional women with children. The book analyses the modern problem of juggling work/life and family. The central idea of the book was the pressure cooker and how it could help modern women juggle the demands of home and career. Pressure cookers’ hey-day was in the 50’s, which inspired relevant imagery from the same era, giving the book a quirky, lighthearted, retro feel within a contemporary framework. Because of the complexity of the content… universal symbols and icons were used to simplify the message. These then became a central design device throughout the book.
