When Kidrobot, the world’s premier designer and retailer of limited edition art toys and apparel, approached Harry Allen to create a unique space for their New York store, the project presented some distinct challenges. Founder, Paul Budnitz, wanted a space that was consistent with the existing Kidrobot retail stores yet allowed for the brand’s expansion into the apparel market. The space’s two-floor layout is unusual for the area, so an inventive inset lighting and display design was used to direct customer traffic to the store’s second floor.
