This project was done as a part of a classroom assignment where the idea was to create new textures and effects using fabrics inspired from the local culture of the city of Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is a city known to get really hot in the summers and hence, people's ways to deal with the soaring tempratures has become an instrinsic part of the culture of the city. One of them is 'Lemon soda' being sold on carts in the city. The effervesence and the citric taste make it the ideal thirst quencher in the scorching heat. I decided to take this up as my inspiration and develop fabric textures and concepts.
