Branding a Sudanese Restaurant

Nile & Nuba
This was a restaurant branding project. We were tasked with creating a brand - logo, signage, window graphics, interior wall graphics, branded produce - for a new Sudanese restaurant chain. The concept was authentic with a modern twist; the tone of voice, quality/cool.
I chose to focus on the Nile especially as the Blue Nile and White Nile meet in Khartoum, Sudan. The Nuba region, like other parts of the country has its own ancient history. The British Museum has many Sudanese artifacts exhibiting Meroitic writing, which I have used for the logo. While it has some similarities with Egyptian hieroglyphics, it has a script too which is quite unique, certainly for its time. I researched basic meanings to derive the logo, which simply translates to Nile:Nuba or Nile and Nuba.
