The Shaker Box is an audiovisual interface with a tactile special effect developed for a MAN Diesel Engine exhibit at their PrimeServ Academy in Augsburg. Through capacitive sensing, the user is able to seamlessly activate the exhibit by standing on the box. At the same time, through the use of an isolated standing plate and a concealed shaker, the user is able to feel the sound of the engine through their feet. An additional set of sound reactive strobe lights add to the impression, and give the user a unique and physical interaction with the exhibit.
