First Financial Capital president Michael Saei is a finance executive with 30 years of experience in the industry. Outside of his professional life, Michael Saei enjoys contributing to charitable initiatives, like those undertaken by the Farhang Foundation in Southern California.
The Farhang Foundation is a nonprofit that researches and promotes the study of Iranian culture by funding related university programs and facilitating exhibitions and cultural events for the benefit of community members. In 2014, the Farhang Foundation announced that it was seeking submissions for the design of a permanent art installation to be gifted to the City of Los Angeles. The piece was to be called Freedom: A Shared Dream, and the design had to be influenced by the Babylonian Cyrus Cylinder.
Announced in 2015, the winner of the design competition was Cecil Balmond, an award-winning architect and artist. Within his design, Mr. Balmond hoped to communicate the sacred values of freedom, equality, unity, and humanity embodied by the Cyrus Cylinder. The sculpture is expected to be completed and unveiled at the intersections of Santa Monica Boulevard and Century Park East in West Los Angeles in 2017.
