Rebirth of a Craft is a project that researches the tradition of cotton weaving kept alive in the hands of crafters from Charalá, Santander (Colombia). From the thread and the fabric women develop costume pieces that carry the legacy of an ancient culture that has been working with this material since pre-Columbian times.
Through experimentation with weaving, natural dyeing and costume development techniques, I create a wearable tapestry collection that represent the territory were this craft community has been working and living.
