Client LED Management

VCGH is a national adult entertainment company. Rather than try to manage all of the promotion campaigns from a central location in-house, the company has instead contracted our firm to manage everything for them. One of my tasks when I first arrived was to create a pipeline that can handle fast rotation of graphics on Denver LED signs, and then manage the content remotely on an ongoing basis!

Adobe's CC changes were very welcomed for my intentions. I used the artboard capabilities of Photoshop to create a multi-club template for still slides, and in After Effects I created a guide that used a Photoshop sprite file to populate multiple videos. I still had to deconstruct the event content from a master file, but this workflow was excellent for speeding things up.

1. Content Creation

2. Importing to After Effects

3. Client Approval and Scheduling

Managing the communication between the client was a challenge. Initially, we simply used emails––but it's inefficient and slow, things get lost, etc.

My solution was to build a light, responsive WordPress application that the clients could log into easily from their phones to submit approval. Having all the graphics in one spot made it easy for the specific club owners to see what other clubs were doing and get more creative with content requests.

Once the motion graphics were approved I used a remote desktop service to log into the computer controlling their respective club's sign, and used an ancient but efficient program (Venus1500) to push them through.

4. Wrap-up

Check out some of my favorite vids below. Keep in mind that they're "low-res" because of the pixel density on these huge outdoor LED screens. :)
