About Microcosmos
Microcosmos is a series of sheet music by Hungarian pianist and composer, Béla Bartók. It contains 153 sheets in 6 booklets in increasing order of difficulty, with an educational purpose for piano students.
My project
My concept was an LP box with an infographic booklet as an extension for the original sheet music. The infographics contain information about the actual piece as:
_quantity and pitch of notes played per left and right hand
_quantity of notes played at the same time
_types of notes by rhythm played per left and right hand
These additional statistics about the actual sheet music make them easier to categorize in a multi-leveled scale of difficulty and allows the student to choose the best sheet to improve on their weaknesses.
